Infant Massage

Stephanie and Nikolas.JPG

Infant massage is a perfect way for parents to enjoy their baby. It enhances the feeling of love and trust between parent and child and develops communication. Massage helps improve sleep patterns, digestion, body awareness and muscle tone - some families have even found that it reduces stress and colic for their baby. Through massage may parents feel that the natural bonding experience is enhanced, that we become more responsive to our babies needs and are able to relax and benefit from the massage just as much as baby does!

Classes are free and are run twice a year, in spring and the fall, through the YCS Infant Development Program in both communities of Barriere and Clearwater. The program takes five weeks to complete with one massage class per week. All families with infants that are not yet fully mobile are welcome to attend. A light snack, massage oils and towels will be provided and a babysitting service for older siblings may be available.

New sessions will be held in 2017
