Adult Mental Health

Mental Health Services are available to adults to assist those who are suffering from serious mental disorders, depression, self destructive behaviours, family conflict, stress issues and problems in daily living.

These services are free, and are available to residents from McLure to Blue River.

The specific services that are available include the following:

  • Assessment and treatment of diagnosed mental health disorders
  • Referrals to other agencies/services
  • Prevention and education services to assist communities in the promotion of good mental health
  • Facilitation of the establishment of self help groups
  • Encouraging healthy living by empowering the community to care for itself

YCS counselling and support services are free of charge. No referral is necessary.

The Mental Health & Substance Use counsellors in Clearwater are Ava Perraton and Phil Janicki. An appointment can be set up by calling 250 674-2600. In Barriere, the Mental Health & Substance Use counsellors are Grace Baker and Adam Moilliet. They can be reached at 250 672-9773.

Funding for Mental Health Counselling services is provided through the Interior Health Authority.
