Youth Activities
Through funding and support generously provided by United Way and BC Gaming, YCS is proud to sponsor free Youth Drop-In programs in the communities of Barriere and Clearwater. Both programs run Friday nights from 7 pm - 10 pm and are open to youth 12-18 years of age.
Clearwater Teen Night
The Clearwater Teen Night is currently running Friday nights from 7 pm -10 pm excluding statutory holidays and will continue until the end of May 17, 2019. Teen Night is held at the Dutch Lake Community Center where a number of activities, both structured and unstructured are available for youth to participate in. A multi-purpose room is used for watching movies, playing games, arts and crafts activities, - and just hanging out. The gym is used for a variety of sports activities such as floor hockey, basketball, volleyball and badminton. Special events and theme nights are regularly scheduled and our facilitators are always open to new ideas from youth for other activities and/or supplies and equipment.
There is a mini cash concession on site where youth are able to buy refreshments such as drinks and snacks.

Barriere Youth Group
This youth group has proven to be very popular with many of Barriere's youth. During past sessions the program has been well attended, with up to 50 youth in attendance! The Barriere Youth Group is currently running Friday nights from 7 pm - 10 pm, excluding statutory holidays through to the end of April 2019. Specifically for ages 12-18 years, this youth group is held at the Ridge with a number of free activities. The gym is used for a variety of sports activities such as floor hockey, basketball, volleyball and badminton. The multi-purpose room is used for watching movies, arts and craft activities - and just hanging out. Our youth facilitators are always open to new ideas for other activities and/or supplies and equipment and youth are encouraged to bring their ideas forward.
