Community Notice

 

Yellowhead Community Services would like to let you know that the health and welfare of residents in our communities and our staff is a priority for us. We are closely monitoring up-to-date information provided by the Government, BC CDC and Interior Health, which is helping us make informed decisions regarding our services.

As of today, the non-essential programs listed below will be suspended until further notice.  Essential services will continue to be offered but may experiences changes in location and hours.  These changes are also listed below. As we learn more information about Covid-19 we will continue to adapt our programming; posting programming updates on our web site and social media sites.

If you have questions about YCS services please phone our main office at 250-674-2600.

In order to help prevent the possible spread of any infections YCS will be increasing sanitization measures as an extra precaution. We expect all staff and visitors to wash their hands upon entry to our facilities and practice social distancing. We respectfully ask that you do not attend if you are feeling unwell for any reason.

Transit

  • All riders are free, 6 ridres per bus, routes as per ususal

Dutch Lake Community Centre - Open only for Social Assistance Cleints

  • Social Assistance Trusted Third Party - service as usual
  • Literacy – inquire via email only to: kerry.c@yellowheadcs.ca
  • Community Income Tax Program – as planned
  • Teen night - cancelled
  • Soup Kettle and Food Security Programs cancelled
  • Early Years and Indigenous Early years programs - cancelled
  • Business Centre Services (Faxing, printing, etc…) - cancelled
  • Pediatrician, Dr. Van Leeve – cancelled

Licensed Child Care Programs, Clearwater and Barriere

  • Clearwater and Little Stars Preschool is temporarily closed
  • Wells Gray After School Program is relocated to 209 Dutch Lake Road and will be ooeb as needed - Spaces available for infants to 12 years old.
  • Eagle’s Nest and Little Stars are temporarily closed

Counselling, Clearwater and Barriere

  • Services as usual

WorkBC, Clearwater and Barriere

  • Services as usual with access via telephone encouraged

Better at Home, Barriere and Clearwater

  • Home based & transportation services suspended
  • Friendly visiting – in person cancelled, replaced with telephone visiting
  • Grocery & perscription delivery available

Early Childhood Services, Barriere and Clearwater

  • Home based programs; individual families and staff will decide to access service or not

Safe Home, Clearwater and Barriere

  • Services as usual

Challengers & CLBC Programs

Yellowhead Community Services (YCS) are dedicated to helping improve the lives of those we serve. Our trained staff provide integrated supports and services to individuals of all ages through several different community locations, including our offices and program centres in Clearwater and Barriere. 

YCS is a non-profit, registered charity. As a contracted agency, we commit our energy and resources to delivering a wide variety of mostly free programs and services to those residing in the North Thompson Valley - from McLure to Blue River. 

We are guided by our Mission Statement:

Becoming accredited means our programs and services have been evaluated by an objective third party and have demonstrated conformance to internationally accepted standards. Accreditation allows us to ensure that we are achieving the best possible outcomes for the people accessing our services and drives us to strive for continuous quality improvement.
