Summer Day Camp Leader

Seasonal - Clearwater, BC

YCS is looking for a summer day camp leader for our seven-week Summer Fun Days Program. The program runs from July 4th to September 1st Monday to Friday. The program is closed for the first two full weeks of August. You will be working with children ages 5-12 and supervising them in a variety of activities. We are looking for a fun, creative individual who enjoy working with children. Successful applicants must be 19 years of age or older, have attended school this year and be returning to school in the fall, and will be asked to complete a criminal record check. Preference will be given to those applicants that have valid standard first aid (or emergency child care first aid) and experience working with children.

Wage depends on quailifications and experience.Closing date June 9, 2017.

Qualifications: ECE Certification / ECE Assistant certification preferred, current First-Aid. Potential for training opportunities for less qualified applicants. Community Support Worker

Support Worker - Casual Position

Yellowhead Community Services Society, an integrated health/social service agency with offices located in Clearwater and Barriere, BC, is seeking a skilled, knowledgeable and experienced individual to provide community support to adults with developmental disabilities in both communities.  Shifts will be predominantly day shifts, but will also include evenings and weekends.

Degree/diploma in relevant field is preferred, however, individuals with related experience and/or a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply and will be considered.  Any offers of employment will be subject to a clean criminal record check. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required. Current first aid would be an asset.

HOME SHARE PROVIDER

Clearwater/Barriere, BC - January 4, 2016

Yellowhead Community Services is looking for an individual or couple willing to become Home Share Providers for a semi-independent woman with a developmental disability in the Clearwater area. As a Home Share Provider, you will provide ongoing support and guidance building life skills, assisting with meal preparation, personal care, accessing community resources and services. Other responsibilities include; the safety and well-being of the individual and ensuring she accesses appropriate medical and dental care. You will also assist with nurturing positive relationships with friends, family and support network and encourage integration and inclusion within the home and community.  This is a 24/7 position, however additional supports will be provided.

Basic Requirements

  • Relevant training and/or previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities including FASD.
  • First Aid and CPR training
  • Valid BC driver’s license
  • Criminal record check

Be willing to obtain/complete the following:

  • A satisfactory home study
  • Three letters of reference
  • Physician’s letter of good health
  • Signed declaration of confidentiality
  • Signed release of information
