Adult Mental Health/Substance Use Life Skills/Case Manager

North Thompson/Clearwater area

MHSU life skills/case worker: Permanent part-time of 20-25 hours per week with potential of full-time

Working primarily with adult and older adult population to provide intake, assessment, brief interventions and case management services

  • Support for seniors who are isolated and who have a MHSU diagnosis, by coordinating supports/resources.
  • Provide direct life skills support, substance use outreach, substance use counselling support, and some case management service. 
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate psychoeducational groups
  • Outreach and ongoing engagement with the North Thompson Aboriginal Culture Centre and Simpcw First Nation Band service team to enhance level of community services


Bachelor Degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

  • Two (2) years’ recent related experience in a mental health, alcohol, and drug treatment environment with experience working with the adult population.
  • Current valid class 5 BC Driver’s License.

Early Childhood, Infant and Toddler and Special Need Educator

Yellowhead Community Service Society operates four licensed child care facilities; Building Blocks Daycare, Clearwater Preschool and Wells Gray After School Program in Clearwater and Little Stars Child Care in Barriere, BC. We have various openings for Early Childhood Educators, Infant and Toddler, Special Needs Educators and Educator Assistants.  Hours will fluctuate depending on numbers of children registered in our programs.

Successful candidates will be able to:

  • Work well within a team environment to assist with the planning and implementation of a quality play based program for children between two months and 13 years’ old
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, families and community professionals
  • Be familiar with the expectations and requirements of Community Care Licensing Regulations
  • Posses an in depth knowledge of child growth and development
  • Participate in ongoing professional development


  • ECE diploma, certificate or assistant status
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Clear criminal record check

YCS is looking for energetic and enthusiastic staff to join their child care team. Hours will be casual and will vary depending on number of children enrolled within the program.

Bulding Blocks Daycare is a busy licenced group care facility with eight under 36 months and sixteen 30+ months in Clearwater, BC. We provide full and part time care for families within our community.

Clearwater/Barriere, BC 

Yellowhead Community Services is looking for an individual or couple willing to become Home Share Providers for a semi-independent woman with a developmental disability in the Clearwater area. As a Home Share Provider, you will provide ongoing support and guidance building life skills, assisting with meal preparation, personal care, accessing community resources and services. Other responsibilities include; the safety and well-being of the individual and ensuring she accesses appropriate medical and dental care. You will also assist with nurturing positive relationships with friends, family and support network and encourage integration and inclusion within the home and community.  This is a 24/7 position, however additional supports will be provided.

Basic Requirements

  • Relevant training and/or previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities including FASD.
  • First Aid and CPR training
  • Valid BC driver’s license
  • Criminal record check

Be willing to obtain/complete the following:

  • A satisfactory home study
  • Three letters of reference
  • Physician’s letter of good health
  • Signed declaration of confidentiality
  • Signed release of information
